Two Pianos and an Organ Concert March 21st

You are invited to hear popular organists/pianists Ruth Clemens and Fran Stroud combine their considerable talents in a concert March 21st at 3 PM in the sanctuary of the Woodlands Presbyterian Church at 11 Ecuestre Dr. (behind the Woodlands Auditorium). The Two Pianos and an Organ concert will be approximately one hour in length, and include a wide variety of musical styles. There will be a bit of Gospel with a setting of “Shall We Gather At The River”, contrasted with an arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3” arranged for Two piano/Four hands.

And speaking of Bach, also scheduled will be a work by the comedian of the keyboard, PDQ Bach whose “Toot Suite” will remind listeners of the “Chopsticks” arrangement played at the concert last year by the artists. This year’s arrangement calls for two players on one organ bench.

Combine that with songs by George Gershwin and a setting of the hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy”, contrasted with the strains from the great Toccata by Charles-Marie Widor, along with other selections ensures both and entertaining and inspiring afternoon for the Audience.
