The Alpha Course
Woodlands Presbyterian Church will be presenting another class sometime in 2010. Then will be the time for us to add another chapter to the book of our lives. The most important person is this chapter is Jesus Christ. We can know a lot about HIM and yet we need to know HIM better. The Alpha Course can help us grow in our relationship with Jesus to know him better. The Alpha Course can help us grown in our relationship with Jesus.
Here are some key questions to answer as you seek to step forward and upward:
*Are you interested in growing in your personal relationship with Jesus?
*Are you wanting to move upward to your level of faith?
*Are you ready to read the Bible with more insight and understanding?
*Are you open to experience the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit?
*Are you committed to explore new facts and facets of Christianity?
*Are you keen on knowing and reconfirming your Christian roots?
Answering YES to any of these questions is your first step toward the Alpha Course.
Over 150 have enjoyed the Alpha Course at Woodlands Presbyterian these past five years. Any Alpha graduate will tell you of its huge value. Our prayer is that everyone in our Churches will take this Course and help in future Courses.
All Classes will be held from 5:30-7:45 PM in Fellowship Hall at Woodlands Presbyterian Church (11 Ecuestre Dr. located behind the Woodlands Auditorium).
The 10-week Alpha Course begins on Tuesday September 1, 2009 and ends Tuesday November 10, 2009.

Quilt Ministry
The Quilt Ministry donated these nine (9) beautiful quilts for the women at Potters Clay who completed their course of study. These quilts are made from a labor of love for special people who need some love. Recently, eight quilts have been completed for The Masters Table in Hot Springs and eight baby quilts donated to Change Point in Hot Springs.
The Quilt Ministry also donated more than twenty (20) patriotic styled quilts to the Marine Corps Wounded Warriors Battalion. These quilts will provide warmth and comfort to each of these heroes recovery knowing that the women who crafted these patriotic quilts care deeply about our servicemen and women.
Please come and join the Quilt Ministry. It is a gathering of community women who enjoy working on quilts for the crisis centers in the area.
In the past, our Quilt Ministry has contributed to childrens homes, crisis centers, food pantries, CASA of Benton, Glenhaven Youth Ranch, womens homes, armed services organizations, and substance abuse centers for all ages. We have contributed over 200 quilts over almost six years.
Our fabric and supplies are donated by people wanting to contribute. Our ladies are members of the community with the desire to make quilts to be used by t hose in need in our community. We cut fabric, design the tops, piece the tops and tie the quilts with some machine quilting.
We especially invite anyone interested to join our group please bring a pair of scissors and remember the only qualification is a thimble!
We meet on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at Woodlands Presbyterian Church, which is located just behind the Woodlands Auditorium, at 11 Ecuestre Drive, Hot Springs Village.
There are plenty of opportunities to help if anyone would like to join us. For additional information call Phyllis Spencer at 922-0666, or go to our website www.woodlandschurchhsv.org
