Shirley and her husband moved to the Village in 2002 from Lawrence, Kansas. She is a native of Nebraska. She has 5 children, 2 girls and 3 boys, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She and her husband joined the Peace Corps when they retired. He was a high school teacher and she worked in a lab. They were sent to Papua, New Guinea and both taught in the high school. She has done a lot of traveling and still plans to do more. She loves to read, likes to do all kinds of needlework and is joining the quilters in the Village. She was widowed several months ago. Please give Shirley a WARM WOODLANDS WELCOME and let her know how pleased we are to have her with us.
Dave and Donna Herford moved here recently from Fort Worth, Texas. Dave was originally from Oklahoma and Donna from Pennsylvania. They met at a Scouting event, she as a Girl Scout and he as an Explorer Scout. Donna attended Oklahoma City Community College, has a degree in Occupational Therapy and is an LPN. She works in Hot Springs at St. Joseph Hospital. Dave attended Oklahoma University and is working for J. P. Morgan Chase in the Oil and Gas Trust and Minerals. Their hobbies are boating, golf and traveling and Donna likes to sew. They have a married son living in Oklahoma City and a married daughter living in Yokohoma, Japan. Please join with the choir in giving them a big Woodlands Family Welcome.
Dana Peick Dana and her husband moved to the Village in 1999 from St. Louis, MO. She lost her husband in an automobile accident in 2003. She was born in Kansas but spent most of her life in St. Louis. She attended the University of Kansas. Dana is self employed running her business, GrafCom. She works with medical book publishers to provide creative, editorial and project management services. Her last project took 2½ years to finish. It is the largest best selling Primary Care Pediatric text book in the world. It was published by the American Academy of Pediatric Medicine. She has a daughter, Erin, who lives in Dallas. Danas hobby is golf. Please give Dana a warm Woodlands welcome and let her know how pleased we are to have her join us.
*Herb Kunz has lived in the village for 7 years. He moved here from northern Arkansas, but was originally from Illinois. He worked in the Graphic Design field. He built and flew his own plane but now just works with model planes and flies them. He has a daughter and a son and has 3 granddaughters. Please give Herb a Warm Welcome to Woodlands Church. *Annette and Lee Prock came to The Village from Waco, TX in 1989. Annette is a graduate of Baylor School of Nursing. She set up a training program at Good Samaritan here in The Village. She then decided she wanted to do something different and went to work selling real estate with Re-Max. Annette and Lee have 6 children, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild who is seven years old. Annette loves to garden when she's not working in real estate. Lee has some health difficulties. He is presently at Fountain Lake Convalescent Home. His mind is sharp and his personality is delightful. Please give Annette and Lee one of our Special Warm Woodlands Welcome. *Larry Walker moved here 7 years ago from Fayetteville, AR but was originally from Minnesota. He worked for Superior Industries in Fayetteville in the Quality Control department. He now works part time in The Village at Ponce golf course. He has 4 step-children and 9 grandchildren. His hobbies are golfing and being out on his motorcycle. Please welcome this interesting young man to our Woodlands family. *Laverne White has been in The Village for 10 years. She came from Valdosta, GA but was originally from Louisiana. She was a homemaker who loved gardening and did flower arranging professionally. She was very active in the Presbyterian Church and served on the staff as Director of Women's Ministries. She plans to join the choir this fall. Laverne has 3 sons and 5 grandchildren. Let's give her a rousing Choir Welcome to Woodlands Church.
Jerald and Eileen Bulls have lived in Hot Springs Village for the past eight years. They moved here from San Antonio, Texas. Jerald was born and raised in Texas, while Eileen was born in Canada and moved to the United States at the age of 15. Traveling, reading and gardening are some of their hobbies. Together, they can list some of their visits to: Germany, France, Japan, Lebanon, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and many of the continental states. They enjoy watching Glenn Beck and Mike Huckabee on television. They also enjoy a good movie, without commercials and with clean language. They have a varied appetite in foods ranging from Mexican to Italian to Chinese.
